Paul, a struggling young producer from London, has moved north for the winter, and up the M1 to Yorkshire. After a string of tea-boy jobs on the London Theatre scene, at last he has the opportunity to put on his own show......just how he dreamed it......and oh, what a show it will be! But what Paul has in store for him will prove to be more than he bargained for. Elizabeth, a beautiful young local girl, despite failing the audition for leading lady, gets the part as his girlfriend; but Marina has got him on her radar screens and is carefully homing in her weapons for a final strike. If that wasn't enough, his lead male becomes "indisposed" (for legal reasons), and the hosts of the show can't bear to be in the same room as each other, let alone share a stage! Will it be all right on the night? ... Probably not, but it'll be fun watching.
The GAOS Summer Show, will be a cabaret style show within a show. The first act follows Paul as he casts and rehearses a group of local people, working towards the great night. The second act is the big performance itself. The music is taken from a number of genres: shows, popular music and traditional cabaret songs and dances.
