Victorian England. Orphan Oliver Twist infuriates Bumble, the parish beadle, when he asks for a little more gruel - so Bumble rids himself of the problem by selling Oliver to an undertaker. Oliver runs away and hooks up with Fagin and his band of young pickpockets. He enjoys their attention and particularly likes Nancy, the oppressed girlfriend of the bully, Bill Sikes. But then Oliver is caught by the authorities and is placed inthe care of an old gentleman. Fagin fears he'll blow the lid on his operation, so he and Sikes send Nancy to get Oliver .............
