Somerset Maugham Directed by Jenny Buffle Somerset Maugham's classic comedy of manners takes us back to the drawing rooms of the 1920s where the emancipation of women was beginning to stir. Constance Middleton, the wife of a wealthy surgeon, is surrounded by friends and relatives all eager to inform her that her husband is having an affair with her best friend, Marie-Louise. No fool, Constance is quite well aware of what is going on, but is determined not to be told.
