GENEVA ENGLISH DRAMA SOCIETY9 November 2004 THE MUSICIANS (or THE PASSION TO PERFORM) This is a "super playreading", "super" in GEDS parlance meaning with props, costumes and more rehearsals. It will be performed by THE EDGE (GEDS's 14-17 year-old members). This comedy by Patrick Marber, commissioned by the Royal National Theatre, is about young people in an English school orchestra who are in Moscow to give the most important concert of their lives. There's just one problem: their instruments have not arrived. Luckily for them a Russian boy, who cleans the hall and dreams of performing Pinball Wizard with a real guitar, comes up with the idea that saves everyone. How do you think he does it .....? |
