PLAYREADING - STAGESTRUCK
A drama. Robert, a penniless failed actor, but a very ingenious stage-manager, cossets and supports his rich, ambitious actress wife in every way possible. She believes he has often been unfaithful to her and announces that she is turning him out of her life and their home. She also concocts a complicated plot to obtain grounds for divorce using the services of a private detective masquerading as a psychiatrist. Robert uses his skill at stage managing effects devises a bizarre way of teaching them a lesson so that he can walk out of Anne's life with dignity. However, a scheming young student also had a part in the plot and the little game becomes stark reality.
